morning benders - rough trade instore 30th June

Acclaimed west-coast softies Morning Benders are playing an instore at Rough Trade East tomorrow night...

You can get your wristband by buying the LP during the day tomorrow or try your luck queuing in the no doubt searing heat at 6pm but if you do that you're a doyle.

Avi Buffalo - Rough Trade Instore

Things are happening quick for latest Sub Pop hopefuls Avi Buffalo, you'll be hard pressed to find a more perfect example of the all-conquering influence of a Pitchfork Best New Music shout out.

Their debut is a breezy blast of summer optimism, youthful folly and alt rock guitar genius well worth the praise heaped upon it.

They're hitting our shores very soon, as well as a couple of headline shows they'll be performing a free in-store show at Rough Trade East on Tuesday 25th May.

Field Music - Rough Trade East In-store 15th Feb

Exciting this one! Tally Ho favs Field Music celebrate the release of their third lp Field Music (Measure) with a special gig at everyone's favourite extortionists/record store, Rough Trade East.
The new album-a 20 track epic, takes in influences as far a field as XTC, the War of the Worlds soundtrack, ELO and 'Something/Anything' era Todd Rundgren. It blends the perfect harmonies of their Sunder-bros Futureheads, with the slouching grooves of 70's Pink Floyd and should be on a few end of year lists if there's any justice in the world.

Its pretty straightforward, you just buy the album on the day (which happens to also be my birthday=double score) and you get a wrist band for the gig. Any left overs will be dished out to the proles haunting the Truman Brewery grounds one hour before they take the stage.
